Term limits for world leaders

Some quarters have made a big deal about Chavez' constitutional reforms removing term limits. Some sources even use terms such as his allowing him to be president for life. However, his continued presidency would depend upon his being voted back into the position. Among constitutional monarchies no limits upon serving as prime minister seem to be the norm. The list includes: Canada, the UK and Sweden. France, a republic has no term limits on presidents. Perhaps US commentators feel that everyone should follow the US lead and have limits. For some reason Russia has! Putin will probably find some way to circumvent the rule. CBC has a map showing limits in different countries.
